As part of a project in my Proposal Writing course, I developed a sample grant proposal for Operation Kindness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter based in Carrollton, Texas. I chose this organization because I’ve supported their mission personally and believe strongly in their work to care for and rehome homeless animals.

The assignment required selecting a nonprofit organization and identifying a compatible grant-making organization. I chose to write the proposal to Maddie’s Fund, whose values and funding priorities align closely with Operation Kindness’s goals. This project allowed me to apply persuasive writing, research, and technical formatting skills to create a professional, mission-driven proposal.
